This week has compelled me to do a lot of thinking about marriage! As nearly everyone in the U.S.ofA is now aware, there have been arguments heard in the Supreme Court in regards to marriage equality that could very well shape the way the whole country views and honors "marriage". With this excitement comes a great deal of backlash from those supporting "traditional" marriage. While the obvious explanation of this statement would be that of the uniting of one man and one woman in Holy matrimony, being the skeptic that I am, I can't help but wonder and reflect upon the actual origins of marriage. Those who argue that the "traditional" definition of marriage stems from the Word of God, seem to have overlooked the many many scriptures that reference marriage and under what circumstances one should be formed.
