Traditional Marriage

This week has compelled me to do a lot of thinking about marriage!  As nearly everyone in the U.S.ofA is now aware, there have been arguments heard in the Supreme Court in regards to marriage equality that could very well shape the way the whole country views and honors "marriage".  With this excitement comes a great deal of backlash from those supporting "traditional" marriage.  While the obvious explanation of this statement would be that of the uniting of one man and one woman in Holy matrimony, being the skeptic that I am, I can't help but wonder and reflect upon the actual origins of marriage. Those who argue that the "traditional" definition of marriage stems from the Word of God, seem to have overlooked the many many scriptures that reference marriage and under what circumstances one should be formed.  Gone are the days, friends, when we have to marry our cousin or worse yet, sibling, because that was standard protocol for those who lived thous...

WHAT will I do without facebook?!?!

It's been a week and a half since I gave up Facebook for my experimental Lent activity.  For the first couple of days, I literally didn't know what to do with my phone or laptop.  I would stare aimlessly at both devices trying to figure out how to manage these contraptions without my lifeline.  In ten short days I've learned a few things. 1.)  I have been seriously neglecting the "real" people in my life.  You know, the ones who are actually a part of my life outside of the trap that is Facebook  It's amazing how when you're not constantly synced with FB, you feel disconnected from the world, yet after a few days of real live human interaction, you realize just how much you've been missing with the ones you  love! 2.)
